OmniList – New iPhone/iPod App is introduced for Backpack
OmniList is a new 3rd-party app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that lets users work directly with Backpack from 37signals, a sister product to the project management application, Basecamp. OmniList gives you access to your pages, notes, lists and dividers within Backpack, but its functionality, in fact, turns out to be quite basic compared with some other offerings that are available on the market. To use the new OmniList app, you need to have an internet connection as it does not work offline. Also not included in the OmniList app functionality is the ability to access your Backpack calendar, reminders, the writeboard or journals. Its inexpensive purchase price at only $1.99, however, does reflect the reduced functionality that is offered compared with some of the other 3rd party app providers that service Backpack with their products.
Backpack, as an application, is centred around customer relationship management, an essential component for any successful business and allows you to simply create business intranets, giving storage for documents and files, promoting the sharing of information and ideas, discussion areas and archives all in a safe and secure environment. Pages in Backpack are probably the most useful feature and hold any combination of notes, to-dos, files, photos, and dividers.
Taking only seconds to create, Backpack pages can organize, share, and discuss just about anything!
Backpack, first introduced in 2007, offers a free account that gives 5 pages and an unlimited amount of lists and notes. Paid accounts range from $24 per calendar month, giving 6 users and 1000 pages, to $149 per month, for the top-of-the-line option that gives up to 500 users with 7500 pages. AT the moment, Backpack is offering a 20% saving on sign-ups with coupon code: BPSIGNUP.
